yourownnews is a personal publishing site by Stefan Orville: a stream of consciousness shared as I use the internet. When I see something I like, something that makes me laugh, or something I want to scream from a mountain, I post it here.

Posts come in seven shapes. Articles are long-form writing. Notes are short text posts.Images are pictures with optional captions. YouTube, X, Reddit and Linksare external things I've collected, each with the original source attached. The homepage is a tile grid of the latest posts; thefeed view is a chronological reader; the random link picks one at random; the RSS feed works in any reader.

There are no comments, no follower counts, no trackers, no third-party JavaScript except a self-hosted copy of HTMX, and no algorithm. Article permalinks include a self-hosted text-to-speech audio player so you can listen rather than read. The intent of the site is described in more detail at what is this.
